WEBSITE UPDATE 😀
In February 2022 the product pages off this website simply vanished. The site was down for a few days while a payment in the background was being made and when the site came back online our product pages were simply gone. Our hosting company couldn’t help us and it appeared the blame lay elsewhere. For many years now I’ve been attacked by banks, web hosts, shipping companies, business property landlords, social media platforms and the list goes on, so in truth I wasn’t surprised that I suddenly found myself with a website with no product pages.
Simply put I turned my back on this site and the idea was to have a brand new website built from the ground up and so the search for a new web host and partner to build a new site for me begun. As the months ticked by a couple of firms came and went and then from August 2022 and new friendly / working relationship begun with another UK based seeds bank and the lady in charge there begun building a new website for me over the winter period. Everything appeared to be going great, some new artwork was produced and the site was coming together nicely. Then in March, just 4 weeks ago, we discovered that the payment solutions partner we are set to work with don’t support the system our new website was being built on, simply put a few months of work came to a sudden halt.
So my attention was diverted back to my site here which is built on a platform our payment solutions partner work with, but after my experience of February 2022 I really didn’t want to return back to this platform having felt like I had yet again been a victim of attack for my chosen trade. However I decided to try and tackle this myself and with little to no experience I simply rolled my sleeves up and jumped into the deep end.
Long story short and a few updates later and my product pages were back, it was one of those jump up in the air and celebrate moments, BSB was back. However probably 50% of the strain images were missing from the site and almost all of the strain descriptions were old, outdated and needed to be re-written.
So I’ve spent the last 4 weeks, around child care responsibilities, updating the imagery and re-writing the strain descriptions, it’s still very much a work in progress, but it’s progressing. I’m estimating another 3-4 weeks before the entire site is brought up to date. Other issues such as the site not displaying properly on mobile devices still need to be looked into and worked out, but have faith in me as I’m learning the ropes here, keeping the costs down and ensuring BSB seeds for that reason can remain very competitively priced.
I didn’t want to update the blog until I was sure that things were once again running smoothly here, so it’s a relief I am now able to explain here where the site is at and also why I’ve been awol from my Instagram page this last couple of weeks as I use up every available hour wisely here for bigger things to come….
BSB COMING SOON TO THE UNITED STATES
We are very much on the brink now of this becoming a reality. The final hurdle appears to be this website, it was my personal choice not to push forwards with launching BSB on the US market while this site has remained broken, incomplete and out of date, it just wasn’t a good image for anyone in the US who doesn’t know who we are or what we are about. With this end goal on my mind I have and I remain very much driven to get this site completed asap without cutting corners. However we have a distributor lined up to supply retail outlets around the US, our seeds are already safely in the US and the packaging is ready. It feels somewhat surreal being able to say we are so close after 9+ years of US demand for BSB Genetics 😀
PRODUCT EARTH 2023
Early plans are being put together for us to again attend Product Earth this year, however we are joining forces with another absolutely fantastic seed bank and are prepping to go bigger, brighter and louder. I’ll say no more on this until pen is put to paper and the deposits are paid but it’s exciting times for sure and our energy levels will be off the chart at the event.
